Langtang Gosaikunda trek offers us wide range of cultural and natural diversity. The people living here (mainly Sherpa ad Tamang) are the successor of the Tibetan region. That is main reason as to why culture of this part of the Himalayas highly resembles the Tibetan lifestyle. The trekking route is wonderfully suitable for those who wish to have a short trekking of 1 week or two weeks. The vegetation is diversified ranging from subtropics to the timberline. This place is also a natural habitat for the rare red panda. Gosaikunda is regarded as one of the sacred Lake for the Hindu religion too.
Many religious books of the Hinduism refer to Samundra Manthan, whichis linked to the origin of Gosaikunda Lake, therefoe, its water is considered as holy and mostly important during the Gangadashahara and Janai Purnima festival. At the same time, thousand s of pilgrims visit the area too.
Our trekking starts from Syabru besi after we reach there from Kathmadu in a bus drive. The ext day we tre to Lama Hotel, followed y Lagtag valley. We explore aroud Kyaji Gompa the other day amd ejoy the eautiful views of moutais see from there. The we go ack to LamaHotel ad the arrive to Thulo Syaru ad the Shi Gompa, which is oe of the most popular Gumas of that place. From there we make aother day’s trek to reach Gosaikuda, which is the sacred religious place in Hidu religio. We the reach places such as Ghopte, Melamchigaon amd Tarke Gyang crossing forests of pie, rhododedro ad amoos too. Then we reach Sermathag. After that we go to Melamchi Pull Bazar and again make a drive of about 4 hours back to Kathmandu. Then we end our 17 days log trekking with joy ad full of memories that we can cherish later in our lives.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be welcomed officially in Kathmandu and in Nepal formally by a representative of Noble Treks Nepal. You will then be escorted to a hotel for Check In. As per your wishes you will either be taken to a short visit to the City of Temples or stay in the hotel. However, this may not hamper the trekking preparation as we have to leave the very next day for trekking. In the evening before dinner, you will meet with the guide of the tour and staffs. You can enjoy the excellent Nepali cuisine in an excellent Nepalese fashion afterwards.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After having breakfast, we will take you to some of the famous heritage sights in Kathmandu valley. We will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Lalitpur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhu and many more. These sites are all listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites. While you are doing all these, you will also be preparing for the trekking that starts from tomorrow.
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi
Today, we start our journey that we have been waiting for a long time. We take a bus on the way to Syabrubesi- enjoy our travel through all the way as we have Trisuli River giving accompany. We then head to Dhunche after resting sometime in Trishuli Bazar. From there we reach Syabrubesi in a few moments. We will have reached there by 3p.m. and completed a 7 hours’ journey on the first day.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel
Today, the trekking starts with the trial ascending upwards through a forest. We will have reached Bamboo village after nearly 3hours of walking. We then walk again through the bamboo forest to reach Lama Hotel. This is where we spend the rest of the day and night. On the way we can see bird lives all around and if luck is with is with us, we will also see some beehives and bears monkeys and red pandas too.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Valley
Continue our second day of trekking, we will walk through some dense forests of pine and rhododendron. After ascending forward, we leave the trees behind. On the way we also have to go through a valley. In this trial, the Langtang village is one of the most local and old villages. We can divide today’s trekking two parts too. One of three hours to reach Ghoda Tabala(Horse Stable) and the other one of also three hours to reach Langtang village.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
A short walk of 3hours to Kyanjin Gompa today ensures that we also get acclimatized in the environment of Langtang valley. To reach the Gompa, we have to walk past yak pastures and also through many wooden bridges. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of the trial. At an altitude of 3817m, you get to see the most beautiful mountains of the region- Mt. Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. Not only this but we can also enjoy the views of the glaciers, icefalls and birds too. We then explore the places around going to yak cheese factory and Kyanjin Gompa itself.
Day 07: Rest/Acclimatization day in Kyanjin Gompa
Today, we explore around of Kyanjin Gompa and also allow our body to acclimatize in the environment of Langtang. However, we will not stay idle. We will visit Tserko Ri for the enjoyment of beautiful views of the surrounding mountains that the place gives. Also from there, we are able to get a clear view of langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and the foot of the huge lirung Glacier. The cheese factory and Buddhist monastery are also worth visiting.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel
Then we go back to Lama village. As this is the same that we used to ascend, you might recognize the way downwards. It’s downhill through the forest as you might also notice. We also go past Tamang settlements as we get back to Lama hotel.
Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru
We will descend to reach Langtang Khola at first and then cross the suspension bridge of the same River. We then reach Syabrubesi. Then we ascend to reach Thulo Syabru passing through pine forest. On the way, there is always the fascinating view of Langtang Himal present.
Day 10: Trek to Shin Gompa
To reach Chandan Bari from Thulo Syabru, we have to get through Dursagang and Foprang Danda. On route, we will pass through many schools and gomaps.Shin Gompa is one most popular places around for the cheese factory. Then, we also visit Shin monastery, one of the most famous monasteries of the place.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda
Today’s trekking starts with gradual ascension to Lauirbina Yak. The trial to lauribina Yak is natural habitat for the red panda, one of the rare animals found in Nepal. From Lauribian Yak, we can have the amazing view of the mountains of Nepal and of Tibetan region. Further climbing takes you upwards and from where you can see good views of Saraswati kunda and Bhairav Kunda. Eventually we reach Gosaikuda. We then explore around the Gosaikunda lake and stay overnight in Gosainkunda.
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte
Today, the trekking will be a little difficult than the overall trekking because the climb is rough and you have to cross small moraines at the same time. Then we pass other three small lakes on our way to Laurebina pass (4610m15120ft). The trial then leads us down to Phedi(3740m). And then we reach Ghopte after having crossed rocky hill filled with forest of pine and rhododendron.
Day 13: Gopte- Malemchigaon: 6-7 hours
At the start of the trial, we have to cross a forest. After that we reach Thari Pati village. We cross the village to again arrive to a jungle. The forest that we cross through are popular for bird watching. We then descend down along with the Malamchi River. Then after climbing upwards, we reach Melamchigaon.
Day 14: Malemchigaon – Tarke Gyang: 5-7 hours
We again arrive at Melamchi Khola after sinking downwards. We head to the other side of the valley to reach Tarke Gyang. We also appreciate the Sherpa culture along the way. The houses here are made up of stones. Tarke Gyang still has a monastery built in the 18th century. We will visit this monastery too.
Day 15: Tarke Gyang- Sermathang: 3-5 hours
We head to Sermathang after crossing a small forest. We pass through Parachin and Gangyul. Then we reach Sermathang which is a Sherpa village. Here you can enjoy the traditional Sherpa celebrations if you ar ein the right time. We can also have the outstanding views of mountains like Ganesh, Langtang, Rolwaling, Gosainkunda and Everest.
Day 16: Sermathang- Melamchi Puul Bazaar -Kathmandu : 3-4 hours; 2 hour bus
Fom Sermathang a short walk takes us to Melamchi Puul Bazaar. From there, we head to Kathmandu through a bus drive. The distance between Melamchi and Kathmandu is nearly 60km, which means a bus ride of 2 hours should take us to Kathmandu.
Day 17: Departure from Kathmandu, Farewell!
Today we have to say goodbye to each other. After such joyous moments, you have to get to your own country. So a representative from Noble Trek will take you to Tribhuwan International Airport. If you ever plan on coming back to Nepal again, we are always there to help.
