Dhampus is a day hike in Pokhara and is one of the best ways to spend your time around Annapurna Himalayan range.
The one day hike starts after an hour drive from Kande village. From Kande to Australian Base Camp the trail leads gently steep and demands about one and half hour walk.
The height of the Australian base camp is 2100m, which is a normal height for a beginner. You can enjoy the stunning view of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Lamjung Himal and fishtail.
After exploring and taking some time to click pictures in front of the amazing mountains you will hike down to Dhampus village.
Dhampus is a beautiful Gurung village with majestic views of the Annapurna range. In this trek, you will also get to witness the culture of the local Gurung people.
From Dhampus you will walk all the way down to Phedi where you will take a ride back to Pokhara. This trek is possible all year round and the maximum length of the trek is about 5 to 6 hours.
