Kahun Danda is another enchanting hill north of Pokhara and takes about two and a half hours to reach there. Normally people from Pokhara call this place as a Dharahara of Pokhara. The place displays magical mountain views and also a complete view of the Pokhara valley.
Moreover, the sunrise view from Kahun Danda is better from the lower Sarangkot viewpoint. Very few people know about this place and hence it is very quiet and peaceful for day hiking.
The trail starts from near the army barrack at Phulbari across Mahendrapool and climbs slowly up a slope. The essential view from the top of the hill is the panoramic view of the Annapurna range along with the flat span of Pokhara valley.
Normally this is a one day trek. But you can make it 2 days if you have an interest in spending some time with the villagers. The Kahun Danda at 1520m has a ruined fort on the summit as well as view tower.
The mesmerizing change of colors after the sunrise on the Annapurna will definitely be a worthy experience on this trek.
