Koshi Tappu Birding tour
Koshi tappu is mostly famous for being the only home to the wild buffalo i.e. Arna, in Nepal. However, it is not the only thing that makes this tour in Koshi tappu tour very special. Many people consider it to be the paradise for bird watchers in Nepal. This national park lies in the Plains of Sapta Koshi River, with over 400 different species of birds known up to date. Some of the most noticeable of them are the watercock, Indian nightjar, dusky eagleowl, black-headed cuckooshrike, whitetailed stonechat, striated grassbird, large adjutant stork, Pallas’s fish eagle, common golden-eye, and gullbilled tern. Swamp francolin and Nepal rufous-vented prinia occur as well.
Bengal floricans are still found in the reserve which are said to be the rarest birds in Npeal and most of the world.
Today, you are going to get into the national park. There are many options to reach Koshi Tappu national Park. One of them is the flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar after which we can reach our destined spot within one and a half hour time of bus drive. Other than that, we will be able to go there through a bus drive.
Today, we are going to explore the various parts of the National park and then we will learn about the different birds from our guides too. We are likely to see the birds such as ibis, storks, egrets and herons, which are not found in any other parts of the country. Wild boar, hog deer, spotted deer and blue bull are not birds but they are also very much likely to be seen. We will spend the night in jungle resort.
In the morning, we will do some bird watching but then after that we have to leave. We don’t want to be late and thus leaving in time from the National Park is a pretty good idea, even though we might want to stay longer.
Note: As per our wishes, we can do some boating and jungle ride too.
