Lumbini is thAmitabh Monasterye birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha, The Light of Asia. Lumbini is popular all over the world as the birthplace of Prince Siddartha. He later went on become Lord Gautam Buddha, who is commonly known as the “Enlightened One”. That’s why this place is regarded as a sacred Buddhist place. Lumbini has served as an important site that has helped reunite many Buddhists all around the world. Pilgrims who come to Lumbini are said to have found peace and happiness finally. Visiting this place will give you a sense of the tranquility, harmony and peace, that you will find nowhere else in the whole world. So, Lumbini is one of the greatest and best pilgrimage site for Buddhists in the whole world.
Lumbini is one of the 10 sites in Nepal that are recognized as the world heritage site by the UNESCO. There are many monasteries and many monuments of archeological importance that have been dated back to more than 2000 years ago. Some of the most important places in Lumbini are the Mayadevi Temple, Ashok Pillar and Puskarini pond.

After having a wonderful Nepali cuisine, you will be enjoying with the ever smiling people of Nepal.
Today, we are going for sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley; however, today we are going to visit some specific places only. We will be visiting the Amitabh monastery, Namo Buddha, Bouddhanath and Swoyambhunath. The latter of the two are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites too. After spending whole day touring all over the valley, we will be resting in the same hotel as of yesterday’s.
After having breakfast, we are going to Lumbini from a bus drive. The time for a bus drive is typically about 6 hours. Or another way can be a flight from Kathmandu. Once we arrive in Lumbini, we will go to the hotel for check-in. From there, we will spend some time in the hotel and if we like, we can go outside for fresh air and buy a few things, which will be our souvenir of Nepal.
Afterwards, we will be walking in the Kapilvastu area, where we will visit the sacred site of Lord Gautam Buddha’s birthplace. We will visit the important places of the Lumbini today. We will visit the Mayadevi Temple, Ashok Pillar, Puskharni Temple and many more. The Mayadevi Temple is famous for being the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. On the temple, we can find the various kinds of the historical monuments. The temple was renovated and reconstructed afterwards. It has the Marker stone, which marks the exact birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha, is regarded as sacred.
Today, we are going to visit more of the important places in the region. As it is one of the world heritage sites, there are many historical and cultural monasteries that should not be missed while one visits Lumbini.
Today we visit some of the historically important places such as Tilaurakot, Gothihuwa and Kudan. Tilaurakot was the previous capital of Kapilvastu. It lies 27km west of Lumbini and it is believed that prince Siddhartha spent his first 29 years in the palace of Tilaurakot. Kudan is believed to be the place where King Suddodhan met Lord Buddha after his enlightenment.
Today, we are going to go to Pokhara, where we will be visiting the World Peace Pagoda. It is one of the two peace stupas of Nepal and it is located in Sarankot. From here we will have a great view of the entire valley and the Annapurna region. Pokhara is also known as the city of the seven lakes. As we reach the Stupa, we will have a great deal of knowledge in the history of the Buddhist religion too. We will also enjoy other places of Pokhara too, which are related to Buddhism. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Today, we have breakfast early in the morning and after that we will drive for nearly 6 hours to reach Kathmandu. However, the drive is very much scenic and anyone is supposed to enjoy this trip. But if you are trying to get to Kathmandu in short time, you might want to take the Pokhara to Kathmandu flight which is only about 25 minutes. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Today we are going to bid our farewell to the country of Lord Buddha. We will say our last prayers and will undoubtedly pack our souvenirs in our bags as a symbol of peace. We will surely be promoting peace and harmony all over the world. And finally, we will step into the airplane to take off our feet from the sacred land of Gautam Buddha. Good bye folks.
