Going through Sal trees and farm fields all around us, we will reach Khandbari in a short moment of time. Overnight stay in Khandbari.

From Khandbari, we will trek we will have to trek through a ridge until we reach Bhotebas. After reaching Bhotebas, the trial offers us many forested path. Fter going through the path. We willhave to to again go along a ridge, but it is only a small one. Chichila offers us a great view of Mt. Makalu accompanied by other mountaisn of the Kumbhakarna range.

Our trekking route today, takes us through the rhododendron forest along with other noticeable oak and hemlock forest. For nearly 2 hours we have to go downhill but then we will arrive there within time. Num is a small village with about fifteen houses and this village also has a primary school.

Sedua is a village quite similar to Num. A very steep descent from the village takes us to Barun River. After crossing the river, we will have to make nearly the same kind of walk but this time, we ascend. And this ascend can be pretty strenuous. After ascending we will come to the starting point of the Makalu Barun National Park. We climb a little further to reach Sedua.

After having breakfast, we will have to trek along the way to reach Tashigoan. After passing through many villages and also rice and millet fields we will have to climb downhill to reach Tashigoan. We stay overnight in Tashigoan. We will at the same time, explore around the village too. It is also one of the most remote villages in the area.

First of all, today, we climb through a ridge. The ridge is bounded by the Ipsuwa Khola on the west and Kasuwa Khola to the east. Then we have to go through a forest, until we reach Chipla. Now, the route becomes steeper and then it joins along a ridge filled with many rhododendrons and grass fields. We can have a mind-blowing Himalayan panorama.

From Khongma, we will have to climb a ridge to have a view of beautiful Chhamlang Mountain. Then the trial takes us to Ghungru-La. Then we will come across a lake descending and then again climb to reach Shipton-La. Further we have to descend from Keke-La to reach Mumbuk through vegetation and woods of pines, hemlock, birch and rhododendrons.

Today, we will have to make a sharp descent to reach Barun valley and then again we will cross the Barun River. We will also be able to have the views of Mt. Tutse (Peak 6) 6739m and Peak 7 (6185m). After this we will have to walk on through numerous rocks and falls. Then we will have to cross the Barn Khola. Then after that, we reach Yangri Kharka, but we will go past to reach Nehe Kharka.

Today, we will have to follow the Barun valley to reach the Riphuk Kharka. After making short climb, we will reach Jhak Kharka. Then the trial goes upwards side by side of the moraine formed by the lower Barun Glacier. This place gives us a very good view of many mountains. Many people also call this place a lower base camp of Mt. Makalu. After a short time, we will reach Sherson. This is where we will camp for the night.

We climb gradually to reach a pass. The pass gives us some excellent Mt. Makalu and at the same time, we can also have the views of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse panorama. Then within a short time, we reach Makalu Base Camp where we will spend the rest of the night.

Today we will explore the base camp of Mt. Makalu. Barun Glacier lies beyond it. This place is quite rocky, but around the place, we can spot some lakes too. The lakes are also very beautiful. We can visit them and some glaciers too. This place also gives us an extraordinary view of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse and undoubtedly, Mt. Makalu. Rest of the day, we explore around.

Today, we descend from the Base Camp to reach Yangri Kharka. We then pass through Sherson, Merek and again descend to finally reach Yangri Kharka. We spend the night in a tented camp.

We continue our descending at a regular speed and then pass through a rock fall. Today’s trek is about 5-6 hours and we can take our time to reach Mumbuk. After haing crossed the Barun valley, we will reach Mumbuk within minutes to camp in the middle of the alpine forest.

After having crossed the fir and rhododendron forest, we will come across Kerke La and Shipton La. We cross a lake and then pass the Ghungru La and then we will go through a ridge which will again give us a very nice view of Chhamlang mountain. This is the same place that we have already through and we will remember this place without any doubt. This is the place where we will camp for the rest of the night.

First we need to remember that this is the same route which we used to reach the base camp. So we will know that this route is same as before. Today, we will have to descend for a long time and the descent is also very much steep. We come across Chipla through many forests of rhododendron and then we will pass a ridge. We will eventually reach the Sherpa village of Tashigoan.

Today, we will go across Arun Khola and Seuda. After some time, we will leave behind the Barun National Park and then after some, we will also cross the river after some time to reach the Num valley. This village is pretty similar to Seuda and both of them are some remotest villages of the area.

Today, we will leave behind Num to go through rhodendron and the hemlock forest to reach Chichila. The walk is pretty simple as we goo through some ascension. We will then reach Chichila after some time and stay in a lodge there.

From Chichila, we retrace the village our footpaths to reach Tumlingtar and for the last time, we will have the last view of the mountain of whose base camp we have visited. We stay overnight in the same place. Also as we have to leave early tomorrow, we will prepare for some time too

Today, we either fly or drive from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu. We will have a 50 minutes flight of the airplane. But if we want, we can also have a drive of nearly all day to reach Kathmandu. Either way we get to have a scenic view of the area around.
