Tamang heritage trial is one of the most recent trekking trials of Nepal. But this trial still stands out among others because it offers the trekkers an insight of Himalayas and the Tamang people living under the lap of those mountains. This trekking trial offers us a trekking route that is virtually unaffected by the outside world. The people still follow their traditions like their ancestors did. Even though their ancestors are the Tibetans, they migrated here a long time ago. In the month of March and April Rhododendron forests blossom and birds and trees and butterflies make the scenery a perfect one.
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be welcomed officially in Kathmandu and in Nepal formally by a representative of Noble Treks Nepal. You will then be escorted to a hotel for Check In. As per your wishes you will either be taken to a short visit to the City of Temples or stay in the hotel. However, this may not hamper the trekking preparation as we have to leave the very next day for Lukla. In the evening before dinner, you will meet with the guide of the tour and staffs. You can enjoy the excellent Nepali cuisine in an excellent Nepalese fashion afterwards.
After having breakfast, we will take you to some of the famous heritage sights in Kathmandu valley. Another 3 hours of walking and then we reach Gatlang village, a small village with typical housing styles as in the Himalayan region of Nepal.
Today, we descend through to Thangbuche and after that the trial ascends upwards after we cross a suspension bridge. We also pass by Chilime Hydropower- Nepal’s first hydropower project. We then reach Tatopani, whose meaning in English is: ”hot water”. You can bath there if you like. Moreover the locals also believe hat the water contains healing powers. Overnight in Tatopani.
First of all, we have to go through Brimdang village by crossing dense alpine forest. Then Nagthalli Danda is justa few hours walk from Brimdang. After that we have to trek downwards to rech Tamang village of Thunam.
On our way to Briddim, we have to cross Linglang and Timure. After 6 hours of walking, we will have reached Briddim which is a Tibetan structural village built by stones. It also resembles Tibet because most of the inhibits are from the Tibetan origin.
The trial descends today at first as we go from Briddim to Ghopche Khola- a ssmall stream. But from here to Lama Hotel, the trial starts to ascend. We go to Lama Hotel through Rimche. Lama Hotel is on the bank of the Langtang Khola.
Continue our second day of trekking, we will walk through some dense forests of pine and rhododendron. After ascending forward, we leave the trees behind. On the way we also have to go through a valley. In this trial, the Langtang village is one of the most local and old villages. We can divide today’s trekking two parts too. One of three hours to reach Ghoda Tabala(Horse Stable) and the other one of also three hours to reach Langtang village.
A short walk of 3hours to Kyanjin Gompa today ensures that we also get acclimatized in the environment of Langtang valley. To reach the Gompa, we have to walk past yak pastures and also through many wooden bridges. Kyanjin Gompa is the last destination of the trial. At an altitude of 3817m, you get to see the most beautiful mountains of the region- Mt. Ganchempo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. Not only this but we can also enjoy the views of the glaciers, icefalls and birds too. We then explore the places around going to yak cheese factory and Kyanjin Gompa itself.
It’s downhill through the forest of rhododendron, pine and fir. We also go past Tamang settlements as we get back to Lama hotel. The Tamang settlements are rich in their cultural diversity too.
We get back to Syabrubesi going past pine, bamboo and rhododendron forest. Overall, it’s just the same way backwards that we used previously to get to the top of the trial.
From Syabrubesi, we get on a bus and then return to Kathmandu after successfully having completed the trekking. This day you might want to get some rest, but can also hang around cool places around Kathmandu.
Today we have to say goodbye to each other. After such joyous moments, you have to get to your own country. So a representative from Noble Trek will take you to Tribhuwan International Airport. If you ever plan on coming back to Nepal again, we are always there to help.
